The country known for the most active Death Squads in world, since the 80's and became well knows in the Shockumentary Traces of Death. The Death's Squads of El Salvador.
El Salvador, according to the site List 25, listed the 25 countries with the highest muder rates and the Country has the highest!

During the Regan regime, the country have security forces trained by CIA agents and Special Forces from USA to promote a security belt in country against the socialist guerrillas with a couterguerrilla military troop, but the criminal activities extended to the country and weapon and drug traffick became an economic activity.

These rates increased when the gangs are fighting for territories and promoted local criminal activities, causing unrest to local neighborhood and clash with police.

The most active gang, that has international ranking of the most dangerous active gang in the world, one of the biggest also, is the Mara Salvatrucha, very well active in Latin America and USA, inside and outside the prisons, with branches in Canada and Spain also.
